Filling in the Cracks

Dental fillings provide a strong, permanent solution to cavities and other issues.

Solve a Common Problem.

Every year, Over 175 million teeth are filled in the U.S. to repair damage from cavities.

Cavities and cracks can be caused by several issues. A blend of bacteria, sugar, and immune factors creates a complex process that affects the quality of life in every age group. Teeth grinding, nail-biting, hard-to-chew foods and poor brushing habits can all wear down teeth. This makes it easier for cavities to appear. This damage can lead to tooth pain, discoloration, and make you more sensitive to hot and cold foods.

Our team is here to fill in the holes.

In the past, metal restorations called amalgam fillings (or silver fillings) served a need but left many teeth discolored and strained from the wedging effect of the metal. Today, tooth-colored composite resins blend into the tooth structure and are chemically bonded to the tooth providing a strong, permanent restoration.

Functional and Aesthetic

Composites contain a mix of liquid resin embedded with finely ground glass particles. Unlike older methods, composite fillings are tooth-colored and will blend in seamlessly with the rest of the tooth. A composite filling can usually be completed in just one appointment. During the process, your dentist will numb the tooth receiving the filling. Then, they will carefully remove the decay and clean the area. A composite filling will be placed, shaped, and polished to a smooth, undetectable finish. After being molded to the prepared tooth structure, a blue light applied directly to the composite hardens the filling material within seconds.
